Catching Up With…Raymond Bolzan, Class of ’20 and Michael Slaseman, Class of ‘16

Raymond and Michael are Alumni from the CPACTC Diesel Technology program. They recently visited their program as guest speakers to currently enrolled diesel students. They graciously shared with us what they are now doing in the industry.

Describe the company or industry in which you currently work.

“I co-own a diesel performance shop.”-Raymond

“M&R Performance and Fabrication Diesel Performance Shop, co-owned with Raymond.”-Michael

 

What is your job title and what do you do?

“We are both owners, and we repair trucks and run the business together.”

 

What additional education and training did you receive after leaving CPACTC?

“I worked with Cumberland Trucking and was a diesel tech apprentice at Faulkner.”-Raymond

“I’ve been employed as a diesel tech and been a business owner.”-Michael

 

What other education and training did you receive after CPACTC? Did CPACTC make you feel prepared?

“No extra training besides employment, and yes Cumberland Perry made us both feel prepared for what we wanted to do for a living.”

 

How was Cumberland Perry different from your regular high school?

“It made us both feel prepared specifically for what we wanted to learn about doing as a career.”

 

How has your industry changed?

“More computerized, and emissions.”-Raymond

“New technology, and less people wanting to go into this field.”-Michael

 

What is your favorite CPACTC memory?

“Building the big CAM 400.”- Raymond

“Building our engines.”-Michael
